Coarse textured hair has more cuticle layers. This type of hair is more resistant to coloring. Coloring any type of hair can damage it if the wrong level of peroxide is used or you are over-processing your hair.

Read about Cosmetics and Chemistry – to learn more about ingredients in skin and hair products.

If you constantly change your color you must regularly use deep conditioning treatments. Over-processing is the main reason if your colored hair looks dull.

One of the most important elements of hair coloring is determining your hairs’ underlying pigment. When you combine underlying color and artificial color in the right way you get the desired result.

How to Test Hair Color
You should always test for allergic reaction on your skin. Here is how:

• Place a small amount of the color on your skin.
• Wait 20 minutes.
• If there is allergic reaction, do not use the color.

8 Tips To Avoid Bad Hair Days /blog/2009/11/8-tips-to-avoid-bad-hair-days/ /blog/2009/11/8-tips-to-avoid-bad-hair-days/#comments Thu, 05 Nov 2009 15:33:36 +0000 luxuryblog /blog/?p=350 We’ve all had those days where we roll out of bed and realize our hair is just one big mess. And even if you’ve washed your hair the night before, it still looks blah. So how can you make sure your hair stays perfect all day? Here are some tricks to avoid a bad hair day!

#1. Work With Your Bangs

You don’t always have time to wash your hair in the morning, so why not just style the surface? Wash your bangs only, and throw the rest of your hair in a cute, messy bun.

#2. Throw it in a Bun

This is what I do most of the time when my hair is a mess and I don’t have time to wash it. Just throw your hair in a chic bun and top it off with a sleek black headband.

#3. Add Volume

If you’re having one of those messy hair days, just flip your head forward and add a little bit of hairspray. Flip your hair back and scrunch with your hands for a sexy, messy look with tons of volume.

#4. Back to Day One

Your hair always looks great right after you wash it, but what about the next day? Not so hot, right? Well to get that day one look, just put a showercap over your hair while taking your shower. The heat and moisturize from your shower will reconfigure your hair, making it softer, and more manageable. Just blowdry your roots a little when you’re out and you’re as good as new!

#5. Tease

Tease your hair a little to get more volume. Start by teasing the crown of your hair for that gorgeous, back volume. You can also do the front as well as the sides.

#6. Ballerina Bun

There is nothing more elegant than a simple ballerina bun. Just throw your hair into a small, tight bun and add a pair of pretty earrings and some lip gloss. If you sleep with the bun, let it out the next morning for that wavy, just-out-of-bed look.

#7. Dry Shampoo

Yes, there is such thing as a dry shampoo, which is basically a shampoo that you use on dry hair. You can find this at almost any drug store. Just scrunch it in through dry locks and you’re good to go!

#8. Switch Parts

If you’re getting tired of the same old look, grab a parting comb and switch sides. Switch your part to the other side or right down the middle. It makes a huge difference. Styletips101

New Volumorphose from Kérastase /blog/2009/09/new-volumorphose-from-kerastase/ /blog/2009/09/new-volumorphose-from-kerastase/#comments Tue, 01 Sep 2009 17:11:56 +0000 luxuryblog /blog/?p=169 Treatment provides an injection of texture, adding volume to fine, limp hair

New Volumorphose from Kérastase

Volumorphose is the first texture injection service that transforms flat, limp and fine hair, leaving it with noticeable volume and lasting style.

Featuring Advanced Intra-Cylane(tm) Technology, this revolutionary professional treatment thickens hair resulting in an improved, long-lasting style. The auto-expanding molecule is injected inside the dry hair fibers and expands on contact with water, acting as a filler. Once the water evaporates, a three-dimensional network solidifies resulting in added substance.

Treating Color Damaged Hair /blog/2009/08/treating-color-damaged-hair/ /blog/2009/08/treating-color-damaged-hair/#comments Fri, 21 Aug 2009 19:59:35 +0000 luxuryblog /blog/?p=103 hair+colour987

It is easy for many women to access and find their hair color in a variety of forms: whether its creams, tubes, gels, and in shampoos.

After time most hair coloring does fade. The color will not be permanently changed if it is not the part of an oxidation chemical reaction.

Fine textured hair can be damaged easily from coloring of the hair. The fine hair has less cuticle layers so the penetration of chemicals occurs faster. Coarse textured hair has more cuticle layers. This type of hair is more resistant to coloring. Coloring on any type of hair can damage it if the wrong level of peroxide is used or you are over-processing your hair.

If you constantly change your color you must regularly use deep conditioning treatments. Over-processing is the main reason if your colored hair looks dull.

You should always test for allergic reaction on your skin. Here is how:

• Place a small amount of the color on your skin.

• Wait 20 minutes.

• If there is allergic reaction, do not use the color.
