Fall/winter is also the time when youâ€ll be able to experiment more with gorgeous autumnal colors and the classic smokey eye look. As for lips, youâ€ll want to find the right shade of red so you can complete your seasonal look.

Moving past the general advice, the fall and winter makeup trends for 2011 are shaping up to be bold, sweet, soft and sexy. But before you can complete this yearâ€s trends, youâ€ll need the basic tools of the trade like foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadows in natural shades, lipstick, lip gloss, brow pencil or powder, and of course mascara. Assuming you have all of this, keep reading the makeup trends for fall and winter 2011, and decide what will be your go-to look.

Bold Makeup Trend

If you were born with big beautiful eyebrows, then this is your year to shine. Strong, thick, and perfectly defined eyebrows are going to be a major trend for fall and winter 2011, and the major designers are making sure big brows get noticed. Of course, big eyebrows donâ€t mean messy ungroomed brows, so you still need to shape them, and keep the stray hairs at bay by tweezing regularly. You will, however, need to fill them in with an eyebrow pencil or brow powder to frame your face. An easy way to achieve a strong eyebrow is to keep your makeup natural by matching your foundation perfectly, and not wearing mascara. Use a brow comb to work brow gel over your eyebrows, and to keep the hair in place all day.

Nature-Inspired Trend

Some trends never go out of style, like golden eye shadows used in combination with the autumnal colors; so you can definitely expect to see these colors this season. Eye shadow colors for these upcoming fall and winter months will be inspired by nature like orange, brown, red, yellow and coral. Use strong pigments to create these stunning looks, and then use golden shades to accent the other colors. Keep your makeup simple by not wearing too much black eyeliner with this look so that youâ€ll glow more, without the harsh color on your waterline.

Dark Makeup Trend

Take your look in the opposite direction with this mysterious, dark, sexy makeup trend that will be popping up in the fall and winter. For this look, youâ€ll want to use eyeliner a lot more than the aforementioned trends, while using your eye shadow less. However, you donâ€t need to eliminate your eye shadow because youâ€ll still want to create the smoky eye this season; so put shadow in the outer corner of your eyes, as well as above your crease.

Choose an earth-toned shadow that is iridescent to cover the eyelid. Donâ€t forget to cover the black shadow with the iridescent shade as well, moving from the outer corners of your eyes in to toward your nose. On your lips, apply a nude color of lipstick or gloss; for your eyelashes, use mascara in combination with a lash brush for a spider effect.

Chantecaille Cosmetics /blog/2011/07/chantecaille-cosmetics/ /blog/2011/07/chantecaille-cosmetics/#respond Fri, 08 Jul 2011 14:35:27 +0000 /blog/?p=1367

Finding the perfect foundation is a lot like searching for a soul mate with out experience. You will flirt with many sample some briefly but when you finally meet the one for you, your skin lights up from within and your friends comment on how well you look.

Many women has tried water and oil-based foundations, loose powders, stick foundations, mattifying, illuminating, minerals, the whole works. I stumbled upon this one Saturday after lurking around the beauty counters as usual for while.

Many every day women can agree our beauty counters contain half-used bottles and tubes which we tire of after the initial excitement of a new product has worn out. Chantecailleâ€s cosmetics is but one of a few voted by women as quality makeup, with repeated loyal customer.

Truth be told foundation is no substitute for a good skincare regime. The Chantecaille cosmetics range contain as many skin-nourishing ingredients as you would expect from a good moisturiser. It contains Arnica and aloe that soothe the skin; rosemary and green tea provide a hit of antioxidants for your skin. The unique gel (and hence oil-free) formulation sinks into the skin and provides medium coverage, while imparting a subtle glow that says: look how supple my skin is!

Get every time a modern, finished look with any, ultra-fine powder foundation that keeps even oily skin looking beautifully matte all day. A new process allows pigments and powder to be coated with vegetable protein and phospholipids, protecting skin against any possible irritation.

Chanel Makeup Review: Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF15 /blog/2011/06/chanel-makeup-reviews/ /blog/2011/06/chanel-makeup-reviews/#respond Tue, 14 Jun 2011 14:45:59 +0000 /blog/?p=1288

Coated pigments hide imperfections with an optical effect. Polymers in the formula optimize hold. Leaves you an even & beautiful complexion all day long.
Pros
* good coverage
* feels light
* natural look
* Creamy texture
* nice container

Cons
* price

This is one our favorite go-to products. It’s literally one of the best foundations I’ve ever tried. So many people have told me that my skin looks amazing (when I’m wearing this product.) It feels very light and as if I’m wearing no makeup. While I’m applying chanel makeup, I can literally see all my flaws go away. Although, I must say, if you have lines/wrinkles, it may sink into your skin making them appear more obvious. Other than that, this is one of my best foundations.

How to Apply:

Liquid foundations can be tricky. There are a number of methods you can use. A taklon foundation brush provides even, hands-free application. Check out Sephora for an excellent selection of makeup foundation brushes at a good price. Using a brush guarantees even distribution of the product, and minimizes bacteria contamination. Apply a nickel sized drop of Chanel make up on the back of your hand and dip your brush. Use light, long strokes to apply the foundation on your face and make sure to blend smoothly, blending is key. Additionally, you may want to use a makeup sponge to blend any streaks. If you’re crunched for time, skip the brush altogether and just use the makeup sponge. You can also dampen the sponge slightly with water for lighter coverage.

For acne prone skin, apply a makeup primer would be ideal before applying any form of makeup to the skin.
